Mobile operators (like Vodacom, MTN, Telkom in SA) offer SMPP access as a business/enterprise service, to send SMS messages through the operator's SMSC.

PNPSCADA offers certain SMS Connector options to customers, including connectivity via SMPP through the customer's mobile operator's SMSC.

To test the SMPP functionality within PNPSCADA, users may create a login account at melroselabs.com free of charge and request access to the Tyr SMS Gateway.

Once logged in, navigate to Tyr SMS Gateway; under Accounts, select 'Get Account' in the 'Developer' section.

Specify the cell phone numbers you wish to include in your test environment-note that notifications can only be sent to these numbers.
Select the SMPP API, provide your email address, agree to the terms and conditions, and submit your request. You will then get an email containing your Tyr Gateway details.

For detailed guidance on sending a test SMS notification from PNPSCADA, please refer to this post.

The process is similar, but you must choose 'SMPP' in the SMS connector type dropdown menu and complete the required fields. For testing purposes, enter the cell phone number in international format (excluding the '+') for both the 'Range/ShortCode' and 'Source Number' fields.
